Richard Ross is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 6-2 188 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Anderson. Large, athletic build with a lean, projectable build, long limbs and room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 7.51 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows a loose and easy arm action across the infielder with carry, fields out front, short quick steps, remains tall at release. Also pitched, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a short arm action in the back. Stays tall on backside and generates nice extension out front with some downhill plane. Worked exclusively with a fastball which topped at 83 mph with cutting life. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and a high hand set. Small leg lift trigger, simple and compact swing with ability to get the barrel through the zone and to the ball. Upper body swing, shows strength at contact to the middle and pull parts of the field.
