Brannon Powell is an '06 infielder from Auburn, Alabama with a medium frame and good core strength. Defensively he shows a rigid arm from a H3/4 slot with good arm strength at 76mph (IF). He has a solid glove with a quick transfer, and athletic actions. He has quick feet and good range. At the plate he hits from a medium base with a straight stance into a short stride that shows no weight transfer into contact. His hands are loose with a short load, and a quick stroke. He shows decent bat speed and good gap to gap power. He shows the ability to use all fields and hit the ball where it is pitched. He has a line drive swing plane into a medium finish. He has solid tools now and will develop into a high level prospect as he matures.

Defense: 65-72mph IF / arm is a bit slow from a L3/4 slot / glove, transfers and footwork are raw and hard to project. Offense: medium base / straight stance / good balance / short stride / slight weight transfer / good hands / long swing / linear style / lift in swing / short load / normal aggression / casts / average batspeed / 1 handed release in a high finish / rotation is good / contact type hitter / uses all fields / average power / controlled plate presence.
