2015 West Coast Underclass Showcase
Max Heverly is a 2018 SS/3B with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Pleasanton, CA who attends Amador Valley HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength with some room to still fill out. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, takes short steps to the ball, fields the ball out front and funnels to throwing hand, gets on top of throws, short and quick arm action with carry across the diamond. Similar arm action from the outfield, comes out of hand well and shows nice strength, moves to the ball well and fields out front, good carry and projects for more with continued incorporation of lower half. Right-handed hitter, starts with a slightly open and upright stance with a high hand set. Upper body swing with quiet lower half, uses a leg lift trigger moving into contact. Line drive swing plane, shows rhythm in the box and looks to hit out front. Occasionally gets to front side early, high finish with ability to turn on ball. Good student.
