AJ Ward is a 2018 SS/OF, 2B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Little Falls, NJ who attends Passaic Valley. Large frame with solid, athletic present build; still projects moving forward physically. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.93 seconds. Sets up to hit with even stance, high back elbow, short stroke with hand quickness and very good bat speed, line drive swing plane with leverage at contact, comes off the barrel well with jump, controls the barrel well with fluidity. Did a good job driving the ball into the air with authority, shows off power to the gaps in game play, more power on it's way as well. Worked out defensively in the infield, moves well to the ball, squares shoulders to the ball when fielding, fields out front and shows softs hands, transfers cleanly and gets on top of throws, fires accurately across the diamond, clocked up to 76 MPH. Named to 2016 Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
