Brandon Van Blaricome is a 2007 third baseman/right handed pitcher from Bettendorf, Iowa, with a 5'8", 145 lb. frame. He showed good arm speed from the infield with solid footwork. Van Blaricome also has good hands for his age. He is slightly hunched over at the plate, and has a good load with his hands. Van Blaricome stays balanced throughout his swing with some leverage. He gets long at time trying to pull the outside pitch. On the mound, he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with good mechanics. He has a small arm arch on the back side with a drop and drive delivery. His fastball topped out at 73 mph, and he mixed in a 60 mph breaking ball. Van Blaricome falls off to the first base side of the mound, and isn't in great fielding position.
