Pierce Cone is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Alpharetta. Large frame with athletic, solid present build; body projects well moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.20 seconds. Sets up to hit from very wide-based stance with high hand set and high back elbow; toe tap trigger with hip coil inwards into load, uncoils well and does a solid job of shifting hips into contact. Line drive swing plane with solid raw bat speed, showed good ability to make consistent line drive contact with feel to use entire field. Worked out defensively in a pair of spots. Quick feet in the outfield, fields out in front and works through the ball well, transfers cleanly and quickly into throwing mechanics, very fast arm consistently on top of throws, clocked up to 88 MPH with impressive carry. Showed well in the infield as well, fields cleanly with two hands and transfers well, shows strong arm across the diamond up to 83 MPH with carry and zip. Good student.
