Clayton Kopecky is a 2015 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cy-Fair. Long and lean high waisted build, very projectable physically. 6.86 runner, high energy defender, moves through the ball aggressively, plays with confidence, nice arm strength, hands are soft and work well at the ball, has all the tools to be an upper level defensive middle infielder. Right handed hitter, tall stance, good balanced swing, loose hands and generates bat speed, ball jumps off the barrel with hard contact, bat speed moved up a notch when he faced velocity, pretty polished hitter with advanced hitting mechanics. Also pitched, compact arm action with some wrap in back, 3/4's arm slot, quick arm. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, occasional arm side running action. Slider shows hard bite and 2-plane depth at times but tends to get between breaking balls at times. Effort thrower at present but has the arm strength and potential. Very nice all around prospect. Good student.
