Jake Wharton is a 2015 SS/UT with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Baton Rouge, LA who attends Louisiana State University Laboratory. Wharton has a strong build and frame. Hits from a slightly open stance, quick stride to square. Gets hands into good slot. Shows good bat speed, line drive swing plane with good extension. Ball jumps off barrel and flashed pull power with long home run in game. Makes consistent solid contact. Defensively, from the INF, good accuracy, low 3/4 arm slot, stays online with throws, from the OF. Feet work well, strong arm with carry. Hands work and has good fielding actions.
