Jonny Mondo is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 5-11 225 lb. frame from Jupiter, FL who attends William T. Dwyer HS. Medium, broad shouldered frame with a strong and mature frame with present strength throughout. Primary lefthanded pitcher, deliberate tempo to delivery, occasionally drifts early to front side. Short and quick arm action coming through the backside working to a mid three-quarters arm slot. Ran fastball up to 76 mph and showed comfort and ability to elevate with two strikes. Comfort throwing curveball and shows a feel for the pitch for strikes at 65 mph. Accurate throws from first base, smooth arm action with accuracy across the diamond, has some effort at release. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a crouched stance and a high hand set in the box. Repeats swing well and shows feel for the barrel with ability to create lift at contact. Occasionally gets out front and hits around the ball, shows strength to pull side when squared off the barrel. Excellent student.
