Jake Stewart is a 2017 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from El Cajon, CA who attends St Augustine. Stewart has a long and lanky frame with a lean projectable build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. He hooks in the back of his arm action and the ball comes out of his hand pretty easy. Stewart gets his hips coiled well at balance point and pitches with some effort. He can get more from his lower half and projects for more velocity. Stewart has some deception to his delivery and pitched to contact. He threw an 11/5 curveball with good shape and spin to it. He got quite a few swings and misses on his curveball as the game went on. Stewart has some heaviness to his fastball with some sink down in the zone. Outstanding student.
