Tyler Hickey is a 2016 RHP/1B with a 6-7 185 lb. frame from Bel Air, MD who attends C. Milton Wright. Extra-large and athletic build with a tall and long projectable frame with room to fill out with additional muscle. Primary right-handed pitcher, works from a high three-quarter arm slot with a short but very quick arm circle through the back. Generates big downhill plane using his length and induced consistent weak ground ball contact. Fastball topped at 82 mph with late life down in the zone and projects for more. Pounded the strike zone and held velocity well, curveball shows 11-5 shape with tight spin and good depth along with ability to miss bats. Short stride with lower half but lives down in the zone. Athletic actions around the bag, quick release with a very compact arm action and accuracy across. Right-handed hitter, short path to ball and stays balanced while generating some lift and extension out front. Gets to front foot early at times, gets the barrel to the ball consistently and repeats swing well. Named to Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
