Tye Shelton is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Texarkana, TX who attends Texas. Large, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build and room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a short arm action in the back. Full hip turn at top of delivery, opens front side early on delivery, creates some deception. Fastball topped at 72 mph and showed sinking action when down in the zone. Long arm action with a quick release on throws from outfield, uses a crow hop to gain momentum. Right-handed batter, starts with an upright stance and a narrow base. Big stride at start of swing, contact approach at the plate, repeatable swing, gets barrel through the zone, shows ability to hit to all fields. Good student.
