James Leidhold is a 2015 LHP/1B with a 6-7 210 lb. frame from Mattapoisett, MA who attends Old Rochester Reg. Extra-large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build and room to fill out with added strength. Primary left-handed pitcher, works from a high three-quarter arm slot with a full arm action in the back. Steady tempo delivery, easy arm action and repeats delivery well. Works downhill, occasionally stays high and misses up in the zone. Gets on top of fastball, topped at 75 mph, shows a 1-7 curveball with short break and flashed a changeup at 69 mph. Full arm action on throws from first base, shows athleticism, easy target for fielders to throw to. Left-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and has hands away from body. Compact swing, quick hands through the zone, shows a simple approach at the plate with bat speed and the ability to hit to all fields. Very good student.
