Angel Acosta is a 2016 C/2B/SS with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who attends Trinity Christian Academy. Medium athletic build. Quick actions behind the plate with good arm strength, quick transfer, throws well from his knees. Also shows the same kind of quick twitch defensive actions in the infield, stays athletic and balanced and makes accurate throws. Right handed hitter, has solid swing mechanics with a good shift into contact, aggressive approach, swing will get long at times, flashes ability to drive the ball. 7.30 runner, is aggressive on the bases. Also pitched, has a quick arm, fastball topped out at 84 mph with good cutting life, curveball is his best off speed pitch with tight spin and some 11/5 depth to it. Very versatile athlete who plays hard and can play all around the field. Good student. Named to the Showcase All Prospect Team.
