Ben Sneider is a 2016 1B/1B, RHP with a 6-7 220 lb. frame from Larkspur, CO who attends Rock Canyon. Extra-large, tall frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable frame with room to continue to fill out. Ran a 7.34 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front, good footwork off the bag and comes to the ball well, short arm action in the back, gets on top and shows nice strength across. Also pitched, throws from a three-quarter arm slot and stays shorter through the backside. Side step into leg lift in delivery, shows balance with a short stride down the mound while staying online. Attacked with fastball in upper-70s, peaked 79 mph and flashed a curveball at 64 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with an open base and lower hand set with a leg lift trigger at start. Short to the ball with quick barrel, opens front side early at times but shows good coverage of the plate. Contact approach, hits the ball out front, shows strength to pull side with ability to go to opposite field. Good student.
