Justin Montalvo is a 2016 OF/2B with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Larksville, PA who attends Wyoming Valley West HS. Medium, athletic build with a lean, projectable frame with room to fill out with additional strength. Quick twitch athlete and very good runner, posted a 6.64 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields cleanly out front, works through the ball well, full arm action on accurate throws, shows strength on throws, getting on top of ball will help to improve carry. Switch hitter, shows an upper body swing with a slightly open stance from the right side with nice contact skills. Stays balanced through swing with ability to hit to all fields. Starts with a wide base and high hand set from the left side, long swing but creates pull side contact, gets out of the box and down the line very well. Good student.
