Charles Bucolo is a 2016 MIF/3B with a 6-1 183 lb. frame from Eagle River, AK who attends Chugiak HS. Tall, lean frame with some present strength. Projects for added build. Right handed hitter with a slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Creates leverage in swing with an uphill swing path due to a back shoulder drop that generates plus backspin and carry. Swings with intent that produces plus bat speed and shows the ability to split the gaps with extended power potential. Shifts into contact well and primarily uses a pull side approach. Weight drifts to front side at times on off speed pitches. Worked out defensively from the infield. Fundamental funneling actions around the baseball that can be stiff at times with a quick exchange and release. Topped at 80 mph across the infield with on line carry. Shows some range to both sides with plus closing ability on slow rollers. Projects as a solid next level athlete. Good student as well.
