Nicholas Sica is a 2007 C/1B with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame from Santee CA, who attends Santana. Sica has a good body with a nice frame. He has a projectable build and should fill out well. Defensively, Sica has a quick release from behind the plate and has arm strength. He makes good accurate throws that are online. Sica is a good receiver and his feet work well behind the plate. At the plate, Sica has a nice swing and stays through the zone well. He has a short quick swing with bat speed. Sica has present gap to gap pop with more power potential in there as he fills out and gets stronger. He maintains good balanced and has a smooth stroke. Good follow. Good student.

Nicholas Sica is a 2007 C/1B from Santana HS, residing in Santee, CA, with a 6'2" 170 lb. frame. Sica was named to the top prospect team at the California Underclass Showcase. He has a long and athletic build. He is big, but flexible and agile and still has room for growth in the coming years. A right-handed hitter, Sica shows present day gap power and his physical presence suggests that he has near average power that will develop in the future. He took a good BP and looked comfortable at the plate. Sica employs a rotational upper half approach. He gets decent hand extension and with an aggerssive approach, he was pretty early to ball with his hands. His hands show promise and he has decent balance. Sica gets the barrel to the ball and has some life in his hands and that swing. He is an intriguing hitting prospect with power potential that is still developing and a build that looks like it will develop into a powerful body. Behind the plate Sica showed off a good arm that tracked to the bag. He was an accurate in-game thrower and basically was an efficient thrower because of his ability to understand how to make his skills work at the game speed necessary. Sica simply does not try to do much. He is quiet behind the plate and is a good receiver who sits well and presents a good target. Sica has good agility and his catch/throw skills have the look of developing into pro type skills. Sica is an upper level D1 prospect at the catcher position. His skills will continue to develop as his body gains and holds new strength. He should also develop into a mid-round draft prospect.

Sica is a 6-2, 175 lb. 2007 catcher from Santee, California with a tall long body. Sica has sloped shoulders and his body projects to fill out well. Defensively, Sica showed a good ability to receive and frame the ball well. He also has nice hands behind the dish. At the plate, Sica swings from a medium base with slightly bent knees. Sica has a long stride and starts with his hands high. He put some good swings on the ball at this event and showed some power in game. Sica showed nice pitch recognition and hit the curveball with authority in game. Sica is a solid prospect and should continue to improve as he gains strength and fills out.
