Ben Becker is a 2016 1B/3B, RHP with a 6-1 198 lb. frame from Williamsville, MO who attends Greenville. Large frame with well-filled out physicality throughout. Hits from narrow base with low hand set, hands set close to body, front hip slightly open, big leg kick trigger. Spins on back leg and doesn't shift weight 100%, still shows quality ability to make contact and match plane. Line drive swing plane with mostly ground ball and line drive contact. Worked out defensively at 1B and in IF. Showed solid arm strength and accuracy from both spots, topping at 75 MPH. Some quality defensive actions with ability to pivot and throw. Pitched as well, deceptive pause at balance point, has solid direction to plate, tight three quarters slot release, FB worked 74-77, topping at 78 MPH. Threw strikes with FB consistently. Flashed CB with 9/4 sweeping action and solid rotation. Pitches off the FB with good tempo and rhythm. Good student.
