2005 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Dayton Lupton is a 2006 2B/SS from Lamar County High School in Milner, Georgia, with a 6'0'', 150 lb. frame. He is a lean and athletic middle infielder with good quickness. Defensively he has a quick arm with nice footwork in the middle of the diamond. Lupton showed a good backhand in the workout session, as well as during the showcase games. He also has good body control on slow rollers. At the plate he is a switch hitter with a no stride approach from both sides. He has similar swings from each side with a line drive swing plane. Lupton is a contact hitter who has a short bat path to the ball. He will put the ball in play and try to make things happen. He is also a good student.
