David Basham is a 6'3", 185 pound, 2006 left handed pitcher from Alpharetta, Georgia, who attends Centennial High School. He has a strong and athletic body with room for more growth. On the mound Basham has a very quick arm that helps produce good sink and run on his fastball which tops out at 84 mph. He shows very good command of his fastball and stays on top of his pitches very well. Basham does drop down on his fastball at times to show a different look to the hitter, and is very tough on left handed hitters. His curveball has a very sharp break at 71 mph and may be his best pitch. He gets outs and knows how to pitch, working away from right handed hitters and using his curveball effectively. He is a competitor who is a bulldog on the mound. He is a very good student as well.

David Basham is a 2006 left handed pitcher/first baseman from Alpharetta, GA with a projectable pitchers body at 6-3, 185 lbs. He throws from a balanced delivery and a mid to low 3/4's release point. Like many young pitcher's, Basham will tend to rush his delivery out front, open early and cause his arm to drag, leaving his pitches up in the zone. Basham's best pitch in Atlanta was his curveball, which was a big, deep breaker at 68 mph and threw for quality strikes. Basham's fastball was 84 mph but we saw him at 88-89 mph the start before the national showcase. He would drop down to his lowest angle and throw 79-90 mph with very good tailing life. Basham is a very good student.
