Boyd is a 6-1, 180 lb junior right handed pitcher from New York. Boyd has a short arm action with an over the top release point. Boyd gets a good downhill angle to the plate off the mound. Boyd throws an 80 mph fastball with a 58 mph change up. Boyd primarily uses his fastball to hitters and will throw a 2 seam fastball that will get some good armside run to it. Boyd doesn't throw his change up much but is effective when he does. Boyd has good control and knows how to pitch. At the plate, Boyd has a balanced stance with some hand strength in his swing. Boyd is a projectable pitcher with good baseball instincts.
