Derek Marshall is a 2016 1B/RHP with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Los Angeles, CA who attends Loyola. XL frame with excellent present build and overall strength throughout body. Hits from slightly closed off stance with good bat speed and strength off the barrel. Approach to hitting is middle of the field-oriented with solid contact ability. Will flash legitimate power with more power potential waiting to be unlocked in offensive game. Shows solid actions at 1B with good feet and good raw arm strength, throwing 85 MPH across the diamond. Pitched as well, showing simple turn-and-throw delivery with compact arm action up to high 3/4 slot. Gets downhill well with good plane to the plate, FB worked in 80-83 velocity range with some cutting action. Showed slurvy slider with good spin and solid 10/4 shape. Flashed straighter CH with good deception. Good student.
