Cal Bocchino is a 2017 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Delray Beach, FL who attends Pope John Paul II HS. Medium, athletic frame with present strength to build but additional room to grow into with added strength. Ran a 7.24 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, smooth and balanced defensive actions, shows a bounce to step and has range up the middle while remaining in control of body. Lower arm slot on throws across but quick arm and accurate throws across, glove plays well at the ball. Righthanded hitter at the plate, starts with a lower hand set tight to body. Hands work very well through swing, line drive swing plane with a fast barrel through the zone and nice bat speed. Gap to gap approach and ability with a feel for the barrel and line drive contact coming off. Very good student.
