Mike Vasturia is a 2016 RHP/3B with a 6-6 235 lb. frame from Medford, NJ who attends St Augustine Prep. Extra large broad shouldered strong build. Simple turn and throw delivery, easy clean arm action, stays over the rubber and pitches tall, high 3/4's arm slot with very good downhill angle, low effort release. Pounds the strike zone with a heavy fastball with lots of sink and run. Gets outstanding sink at times on his change up. Tends to shorten his arm stroke on his curveball and tip the pitch, softer spin with fair shape and depth. Strike thrower who makes hitters pound the ball into the ground early in the count. Showed surprising mobility for his size at third base, good athlete with coordination, easy actions. Right handed hitter, open pre-loaded approach, stays open, looks to pull, has some pop when squared up. Good student.
