Jake Fenn is a 2018 C/RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from El Cajon, CA who attends Granite Hills HS. Large frame with a strong, athletic build. Right handed hitter with a narrow, straight stance and high back elbow set. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Compact path to contact with a level, line drive swing plane through extension. Primarily shows a mid-field approach but has the raw bat speed and strength to drive the baseball to the gaps. Worked out defensively from behind the plate showing a low set with good hip flexion. Quick footwork and creates good momentum into throws. Low, clean glove to hand exchanges while working through transition. Loose arm action through finish producing very accurate throws with carry. Polished actions behind the plate while blocking and receiving. Also pitched using a simple medium left lift delivery. Drives downhill with lower half creating a slightly close landing position. Extended arm cirlce through separation with a quick three-quarters arm action to finish. Fastball showed some running life to arm side ranging in the low to mid 80's, topped at 85 mph. Curveball has 11/5 shape with early break and good depth. Solid command of both pitches while working the bottom of the zone. Very good two way prospect. Good student as well.
