Anthony Villegas is a 2020 2B/SS, OF with a 5-7 135 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends James Madison. Compact frame with a lean build. Projects for additional strength with continued physical maturity. Primary second baseman with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball cleanly out front and works through exchange well. Flashed good first step quickness to each side with developing range. Released from a three-quarters arm slot generating softer, on line carry across the infield. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Loose, extended path to contact with a line drive plane through extension. Primarily utilized a mid field approach but flashed the barrel control to work to all fields as well. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Very good student as well.
