Christopher Matulis is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 6'5'', 195 lb. frame from Boynton Beach, FL who attends Park Vista HS. He has a big, broad shouldered build with excellent strength projection. Matulis throws from a high 3/4's release point and maintains a good downhill angle to the plate. His delivery is pretty complicated with a high leg kick out front and he has trouble occasionally repeating his delivery and maintaining his balance point. Matulis's arm works smoothly out front. His fastball was 85-87 mph in Cincinnati with some running action. He also throws a downer curveball in the low to mid 70's. Matulis is still raw as a pitcher in his delivery and coordination but he has lots of potential to develop. He has shown good athletic ability as a power hitting first baseman in the past as well.

Christopher Matulis is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 6'5'', 195 lb. frame from Boynton Beach FL, who attends Park Vista HS. He has a excellent long, athletic frame that projects very well for future strength. Matulis was named to the showcase Top Prospect Team. He's a very good two-way prospect who could end up excelling on either side of the ball. On the mound, Matulis has a pro profile frame with a long and loose arm and a high release point. He has been steadily improving his velocity over the past year and was 83-86 mph in Fort Myers with plenty more in there. Both Matulis' curveball and change up are quality pitches already. He has excellent fee for his off speed pitches, especially for his mid-70's change up. His 72 mph curveball has good depth and spin and should improve it's bite in the future with some adjustments. Matulis has good command of his pitches and a sound delivery. Offensively, Matulis has a calm approach with the bat and very good balance in his swing, especially for a big, young kid. He has bat speed and the ball jumps off his bat to all fields. His swing path is sound and he has the ability to stay back and hit the ball deep in the zone. He has some raw power now and plenty more to come in the future as he gets stronger. Follow Closely! Matulis is also a good student.
