Max Matra is a 2009 SS/IF/OF with a 6'0'', 160 lb. frame from Coconut Creek, FL who attends Stoneman Douglas HS. He has a wiry and lean body bype with athletic proportions. Matra is the younger brother of a drafted/signed '07 prospect and a good ballplayer in his own right. He is going to continue to develop as he gains more physicality. What is already apparent is that he knows how to play the game and has good baseball skills with some projectable tools. Matra has an easy line drive swing and hits well to all fields, making consistent contact. Defensively he shows feel for the game and at times played pretty easily. Matra has some actions, soft hands and a good arm, all of which will allow him to stay at shortstop if his footwork and footspeed get better. Matra is a good D1 prospect and someday should gain some pro attention.

Max Matra is a 2009 SS with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Coconut Creek FL, who attends Stoneman Douglas HS. He has a lean, projectable body with good length. Matra as smooth defensive actions at shortstop, with easy, quick hands and the ability to throw on balance from different arm angles and throw accurately. His arm strength is developing. He will need to keep working on his footwork and lower body quickness. Offensively, Matra hits from a tall stance with high, busy hands to start his swing. He has surprising hand strength for his age and size and the ball jumps off his bat pretty well. He has a line drive swing plane and makes solid contact to all fields. Matra's swing is mostly upper body generated and when he can get his lower half involved more he could develop some real power. Matra has some nice tools for a 2009 and should keep developing as he gets stronger and quicker.
