Roberto Fuentes is a 2007 MIF/OF from Felix Varela High School in Miami, Florida, with a 5'6'', 125 lb. frame. He has a lively body that is still developing. Defensively Fuentes has smooth footwork in the middle of the infield and gets in good position to make all the plays. When he gets to the ball he has soft hands with quick actions. His only weakness on defense is his arm strength (72 IF), but he shortens the distance on his throws by coming to get the ball with nice body control. Fuentes is a right handed hitter with a balanced swing. He stays back well with a high hand set, and shows solid bat speed with a slight uppercut swing plane. Fuentes has foot speed, 7.37 sixty, and needs to consistently hit the ball on the ground. He shows the ability to go the other way, and should be a good contact hitter. Fuentes is also a very good student.
