Chapman is a 5-8, 175 lb junior catcher from Texas with a big and strong lower half. He threw 73 mph during catching drills with a best pop time of 2.12. Chapman works hard on defense and makes good in game decisions. He threw out some runners with accurate throws and worked well with his pitchers. It's obvious he's handled some good pitchers before and is comfortable with them.. He'll improve defensively with better quickness. At the plate, Chapman has a short line drive swing with some hand strength and quickness. He showed he was willing to go to the opposite field and should continue to learn how to drive the ball to the gaps. Chapman loves to play and looks like an asset to any team.
