Ryan Velazquez is a 2017 RHP with a 6-4 220 lb. frame from Canovanas, PR who attends Colegio Hector Urdaneta. Big athletic build, very strong look. Very rotational delivery, lands open with his front foot and front leg, can improve direction to the plate, extended 3/4's release point, full loose arm action, throws pretty easily. Fastball topped out at 89 mph, some late diving and sinking action down in the zone, threw lots of strikes at 86 mph. Young secondary pitches, tends to slow his arm and guide them at present. Raw skills at present but has big velocity potential with physical maturity and adjustments. Follow closely. Very good student, signed with Galveston College.
