Leyton Pinckney is a 2018 C/1B, 3B with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Kathleen, GA who attends Veterans. Large frame, present strenth throughout body. Ran a 7.12 sixty yard dash. Primary catcher, flashes quick footwork while gaining ground out of the crouch. Extended arm circle at separation while releasing with a compact arm action. Gets on top of throws well creating downhill angle to the bag. Throws produce accurate on line carry to the bag. Topped at 78 mph with a best workout pop time of 1.95. Right handed hitter with a narrow, upright stance and small leg lift trigger. Creates bat speed with upper half strength, tends to be stiff at times. Extended hand path to contact producing leverage through extension. Primarily used a mid-field approach, looking to lift the baseball into the gaps. Baseball jumped off the bat when barrel was delivered to the zone on time. Very good student as well.
