Collin Hopkins is a 2016 C/OF with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Franklin, TN who attends Ensworth. Medium-large frame with excellent build and strength throughout body; still projects well moving forward on frame. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.37 seconds. Hits with slightly wrapped hands at start, unwraps well into load and gets in good position to fire hands, inside-out swing path with intent to hit the ball the other way. Collapses some onto front side which sacrifices leverage, still showed good ability to make consistent line drive contact to all fields. Solid hand speed throughout swing to contact. Worked out defensively behind the plate. Good, low set with flexibility. Moves well behind the plate with lateral agility, good receiver with strong forearms/wrists. Explodes out of crouch well and gains ground with good direction. Popped as low as 2.00 seconds on accurate throws down to 2B. Good student.
