Nick Llorente is a 2016 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Arlington, TX who attends Lamar HS. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build and room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.17 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields out the ball out front, quick steps and moves well up the middle, easy defensive actions and remains balanced charging in. Short arm action, easy release and gets on top with strength across diamond. Also pitched, throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a full arm circle through the backside. Gets on top and is able to generate downhill plane, attacked hitters with three pitches, fastball showed riding life at 81 mph, would occasionally get across body at release. Right-handed hitter, starts with a an even stance and medium hand set. Short path to the ball with line drive swing plane, creates consistent barreled contact and repeats swing well. Steady line drive contact to all fields, shows some strength and projects well, showed comfort hitting middle to pull. Very good student.
