Zachary "Zach" Cook is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Missouri City, TX who attends Ridge Point HS. Medium build, slender with lots of room to fill out. Multi-piece arm action but repeats well, whippy arm coming through, 3/4's slot. Fastball topped at 83 mph, gets big running action arm side, throws fastball to the corners. Full selection of secondary pitches, throws slider frequently, good shape and direction and has confidence in it, change has similar life as fastball, tends to wrap and tip 11/5 curveball with fair spin. Can pitch backwards and has an idea how to pitch, got stronger throughout his outing. Right handed hitter, long extended swing, good extension out front, best contact pulling the ball. Projects to keep improving on the mound with additional strength. Very good student.
