Vince Canale is a 2008 OF/1B with a 5'11'', 175 lb. frame from Tracy CA, who attends Tracy. He was selected for the Top Prospect Game, which did not get played due to darkness. Canale has an average size frame but a strong, compact, somewhat powerful build. He possesses solid all-around ability that should develop nicely at the D1 level. Offensively he showed good hands, with quick bat and the ability to really whip the barrel through the zone. Canale flashed some pull side power and a slashing type of opposite field stroke, suggesting that he should hit for some average, with a little power in college. He runs well and is good on the bases. Defenively he has the ability to play all three OF spots well. He has some speed and gets good jumps on the ball. Canale is an accurate thrower with raw arm strength suited to left or centerfield.
