Blake Carpenter is a 2015 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Bowling Green, KY who attends Warren East. Tall, strongly built, athletic frame and projects to add strength. Ran a 7.11 60 yard dash. Pitches from a balanced, repeatable delivery and releases from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball tops at 82 mph with late life and works down in the zone consistently. Shows a quick arm. Flashes sharp 1-7 curveball with good depth. Has a solid feel for a 74 mph changeup. Also swung the bat, works from a narrow, slightly open setup and hits the ball hard to his pull side. Squares the ball consistently and has an aggressive game action approach. Shows above average arm strength from the outfield with good carry to home plate. Has a repeatable, sound arm action. Good student.
