Andrew Bandstra is a 2015 1B/LHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Roosevelt HS. Medium build, some present strength. Right handed hitter, simple front side contact approach, commits early and gets the barrel out in the zone, line drive swing plane and handles the barrel well, pull line drive contact. Will need to continue to work hard to improve foot speed and quickness for improvement on the bases and on defense. Also pitched, leg raise delivery with an early drift towards home plate, delivery resembles hitting approach, throws consistent strikes with a 70 mph fastball, quick inning. Very good student.
