Austin Lorenz is a 2017 LHP/OF, 1B with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Rancho Cucamonga, CA who attends Los Osos. Lorenz has a medium sized frame with a long lean build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. Lorenz pushes the ball some and has a balanced delivery. He shows the ball a bit early and gets closed at balance point. Lorenz gets some cut action on his fastball and was around the plate with his fastball. He throws a slower curveball at 54 MPH with big break to it. There's more velocity in there with a few timing adjustments to his delivery. Defensively, Lorenz showed clean actions in the outfield with solid footwork. At the plate, he stars with a deep high hand set and uses a late load to start his swing. Lorenz showed hand quickness and showed some hitting tools that project with some adjustments. Excellent student.
