Dean Salazar is a 2017 RHP/1B with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from New Braunfels, TX who attends New Braunfels HS. Big and strong young build. Slow paced delivery with a small leg lift, low effort release, over the top arm slot, tends to rush from the stretch trying to slide step. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight with occasional cutting action. Low 70's slider with a short break, still developing feel for this pitch. Rare changeup. Right handed hitter, long swing with occasional strength at contact, can lift the ball on his pitch with length and leverage at contact. Young with plenty of strength to help him develop.
