Dylan Walicky is a 2016 C/1B with a 6-0 225 lb. frame from Belleville, NJ who attends Belleville HS. Large frame with strong, highly physical build throughout body. Hits from balanced stance with clean set, toe tap trigger with slight hand drift down into load, generates good hand speed into swing with obvious strength at contact. Swing has mild leverage at contact point, capable of backspinning the ball at times. Gets rotated well with his hips and can generate torque. Whole field approach, very aggressive early in the count. Showed pretty well defensively behind the plate. Sets up to catch with slight side saddle feet, some movement into reception, receives cleanly and has very quick transfer. Compact and quick arm action, explodes out of crouch pretty well and gains ground. Shows good arm strength up to 79 MPH, and popped as low as 1.97 seconds. Very good student.
