Ray DeJesus is a 2007 SS/P from Estero in Ft Myers, FL, with a 5'8'', 175 lb. frame. Thick muscular build, balanced delivery, FB shows run action, CB is very tight at times with a 11-5 break and good depth, knuckleball is best pitch with very good deception, good command of 3 pitches, solid prospect with good potential

De Jesus is a 5-7 junior shortstop from Florida with very good baseball tools. He is a senior age junior (will play at 18 years old as a junior) and we've been told that he is exploring options to perhaps play college ball a year early. DeJesus is very strong for his size while maintaining quickness. He ran the 60 in 7.07 and shows very quick feet on defense. His low center of gravity and strength give him very good balance defensively. DeJesus' best defensive tool is his arm strength, though. He threw 87 mph in infield drills with very good carry and threw some rifle shots in the games. Offensively, DeJesus is a switch hitter who looks much better to us from the right side. He has a very quick, level swing from the right side that with his balance and strength results in very consistent hard line drive contact. The ball comes off his bat hard. His swing from the left side is longer, although on the same swing plane. DeJesus also shows talent as a pitcher, with an 86 mph fastball, 74 mph curveball and a 76 mph knuckleball that might be the best true knuckleball we've seen in a while. It's disappears at times. Overall, DeJesus is a gamer with a bunch of tools that play at the next level. Very nice prospect!
