Grant Byers is a 2014 RHP/1B with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Shelby, NC who attends Shelby HS. Large projectable frame with a big strong build. Pitches from a 3/4 arm slot, has a short quick arm action, smooth delivery, good follow through, has arm side run on his fastball, good straight change up, good mechanics, repeatable deliveries. From the plate has good extension, pop in his bat, shows bat speed, good swing. Has good feet at first base, moves well, has good glove at first saving errors, good arm strength. Is an intriguing prospect to follow and is an excellent student.
