Jared Free is a 2017 OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Frisco, TX who attends Prestonwood Christian Academy. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and solid present strength throughout well proportioned frame. Ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. Lefthanded hitter, starts with a wide base and a low hand set that starts close to body. Pulls hands back at load and employs leg lift trigger at start of swing for timing. Generates bat speed well with physical strength, short swing and path to the ball with nice jump off the barrel when squared. Movement in hands and barrel prior to swing, shifts weight through lower half, creates carry to the middle of the field. Named to National Underclass South Top Prospect List. Very good student.
