Ian Torres is a 2013 RHP with a 6-6 210 lb. frame from Ponce, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Academy. Extra large and strong projectable build. Long extended arm action, 3/4's slot, stays tall and balanced in delivery, front side tends to open early on release. Low 80's fastball, topped out at 84 mph, mostly straight with some cutting action at times. Soft curveball with some occasional depth, commands curveball effectively. Gets good sink on change up, slows arm occasionally. Improved throughout outing and showed command and pitchability. Chance to improve with some delivery adjustments. Good student.

Ian Francisco Torres is a 2013 RHP with a 6-6 210 lb. frame from Ponce, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Big young build, some present strength but lots of room to get stronger, weighs more than listed. Hip turn rotational delivery, full loose arm circle, high 3/4's extended release, tends to lean off at release, has work to do with repeating delivery and becoming more directional and compact. Fastball to 84 mph, maintained velocity very well, FB mostly straight with occasional downhill angle, primary fastball pitcher. Flashes good curveball spin with downer shape and bite when on top, throws a split finger change that has tumble and some deception. Tends to nibble and throw too many pitches now, developing mechanics and command will be key to his mound future. Good student.
