Joe Alsina is a 2014 RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Cayey, PR who attends Miguel Melendez HS. Slender young high waisted build. Slow paced leg raise delivery, smooth easy arm action, high arm circle, low effort release, tight 3/4's slot, hides ball well, very consistent and repeatable mechanics. Low 80's fastball, topped at 83 mph, lots of run and sinking action, shows plus command of fastball to arm side, less command to glove side. Threw 95% fastballs, occasional soft curveball with limited feel. Has projectable tools if he can develop some workable off-speed pitches and learn to change speeds. Good student.
