Drew Weston is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Carlsbad, CA who attends San Marcos HS. Tall slender build, physically projectable. Tall delivery, very low effort mechanics and release, looks like he's playing catch, stays on line and balanced, tight 3/4's arm slot, delivery gives deception, ball gets on hitters quickly. Fastball to 85 mph, consistent flat running action, jams right handed hitters and will pitch inside. Throws 2 types of curveball from same release point, 71 CB has tighter bite and good spin, 66 CB bigger and softer. Rare change up. Pounded the strike zone and was effective. Good overall athleticism, open right handed stance, long loose swing, has some bat speed and power potential, good footwork and quick release in the outfield.
