Grant Gilmore is a 2016 1B/RHP with a 6-6 250 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends St Michaels Academy. Extra-large, athletic frame with long limbs, broad shoulders, and some room to fill with added strength. Ran a 7.32 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front, short arm action with present strength and carry on throws, accuracy across the diamond, tall and easy target for infielders to throw to. Right-handed hitter, starts with hands pull back and close to body. Upper body swing, uses strength well to generate bat speed through the zone and power the ball to pull side. Some length to swing path but big jump and carry off the barrel to pull side, occasionally gets to front side early but able to drive ball with authority still while generating loft. Good student.
