Dalton James is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 5-9 130 lb. frame from Powder Springs, GA who attends Hiram HS. Slender build, young look, minimal present strength. Works from stretch, short strike delivery, throws downhill, high 3/4's slot, compact arm, pulls head off to first base side on release, not consistent with mechanics. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight. Good curveball spin when on top of it, has downer depth, tends to wrap curveball in back, developing change up. Good athlete, 6.99 in the 60, shows good footwork in the outfield with carry on throws. Right handed hitter, tall open stance, simple swing mechanics, uses lower half well, loose swing with some bat speed, good extension, hard pull line drive contact, has some hitting tools. Good student.
